  Jesus Cures the Blind Man

This is a painting of hope for all who yearn to be free of the infirmities and imperfections of this world. The stories of Jesus healing always refer to both the spiritual dimension as well as the physical; every miraculous cure is also a sign that Jesus is the One who saves.

The appeal, "Master, I want to see," is also a plea for spiritual sight. God promises that we will all be gathered as an immense throng to brooks of water on a level road, which is a promise of resurrection and redemption. This is why Jesus says it is our faith that saves us. Jesus is the glorified one, the Son of God who grants sight to the blind.
