This painting of the cataclysmic flood reminds us of God’s judgment and expectations. After Noah and his family were saved, God made a covenant saying, “From man in regard to his fellow man I will demand an accounting.” This moral instruction was repeated by Jesus when he said the greatest Law was to love God, then love our neighbor as ourselves.

Many of these elements were added to the painting to enhance original Medieval stained glass design.
